Countries around the world are trying to raise Alzheimer’s awareness and the month of November is the National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month in the U.S. Were you also aware of the fact that the disease affects probably more people than you would have thought, currently approximately 5 million people are living with the disease, one in three seniors dies with Alzheimer’s (or another form of dementia) and that Alzheimer’s Disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the states?
Brookdale, a company with a long-standing commitment to help with the research of the disease, in addition to helping with financial support, is also sharing information that hopefully will help make difference in the lives of people who are living with the disease.
“Throughout the year, Brookdale associates, residents and their families participate in fundraising efforts to support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s program through the Alzheimer’s Association, an organization with the mission of eliminating Alzheimer’s, advancing research, and enhancing care and support for those affected by this devastating disease,” said Sara Terry, vice president of Customer Experience for Brookdale and Brookdale’s National Team Coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Association. “In recognition of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, we are sharing a wide range of resources and information that we hope will make a difference for those living with the disease,” she added.
