NEW DELHI: After showcasing it this year at CES in Las Vegas, Asus has launched the Zenfone Zoom in India. Priced at Rs 37,999, the smartphone comes with a 13MP snapper with 3X optical zoom and Asus even calls it a ‘pocket sized DSLR.’ On paper, Zenfone Zoom seemed really good, we used it for a few days to find out if it worth the price and here’s what we found:
As far as the built and design of the smartphone goes, Asus hasn’t really been very innovative with the smartphone. But in spite of that, Asus Zenfone Zoom manages to look polished and sturdy.
The smartphone comes with a sleek aluminium body and a leather-like back panel coupled with rounded corners. The back panel of the smartphone (much of it dominated by the protruding camera piece) did not scratch even once while we were using it. It is this disk that houses the 13MP main camera lens and dual LED flash. This enclosure ensures that the primary camera of the phone remains safe. The Asus and Intel brandings are also etched on the back panel of the phone. Flip the phone and you’ll see the same aesthetics that you have recently seen on the Asus Zenfone Max.
