Bitpay, one of the most popular Bitcoin payment processing services, is sponsoring Justin Boston, a rookie truck racer in the upcoming NextEra Energy Resources 250 NASCAR event. The race is being held at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida — the home of the famous Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR. Boston’s race will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 at 7:30 PM EST on February 20.
On Boston’s racing website, he shared an article announcing his partnership with Bitpay, in which he said:
“I couldn’t be more excited about having this opportunity to represent the BitPay brand on and off the track, BitPay is a global leader in bitcoin payment processing and they are at the forefront of shaping how we all spend money everyday.”
Justin is a 25-year old NASCAR truck racing rookie with a promising record. Last year, he completed his second full-time ARCA season, finishing first in a Toledo, Ohio race, and a race in Madison, Wisconsin.
Boston is the second Nascar driver to be sponsored by a crypto-currency entity. Last summer, the Dogecoin community worked together to sponsor Josh Wise, a rookie stock-car driver. The community also succeeded in voting Wise into several races during the season.
