Eight kids, let’s call them kidtestants, in ages 8 to 13, will be competing against each other to win their very own series on Foodnetwork.com. They, or actually their parents, all applied by April 18th 2014, answering just one main question asked for the application process – “What makes your child one of the most talented kid chefs in the country? Please list any notable experience.”
Now all the kidtestants have been chosen and the show will be premiering August 17th at 8pm ET/PT. First things first, so they will be divided into Team Rachael and Team Guy based on a mini challenge of making a “family favorite” meal.
As the season continues, the kids will be given different and more difficult tasks until the season finale on September 21st at 8pm ET/PT where the kidtestants will have to cook their signature dishes for a crowd of festival goers. They have to show off their culinary skills as well as their culinary POV.
The kids of the show, Kids cook-off, are mentored and coached by the culinary icons and best-selling cookbook authors Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri.
“I am so excited for another season of Kids Cook-Off, once again showcasing the amazing talent kids possess in the kitchen,” said Rachael Ray. “These young chefs are setting the bar and the example for families everywhere on the importance of the food we eat, knowing where it comes from, how to prepare it and making the time to share it with each other. It is always a blast to compete against Guy, and this season we’ll see no shortage of action and delicious fun.”
