Gionee expands its S series portfolio with the all-new S Plus. The highlight of the device is support for USB Type-C, one of the prominent features seen in select phones these days.
The Gionee S Plus smartphone sports a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display with a layer of Gorilla Glass protection. The device supports 4G. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor with 3GB RAM. The 16GB onboard storage is expandable via microSD card slot.
On the camera front, you can expect a 13MP rear snapper and a 5MP front-facing camera. Some of the camera features include Face Unlock, 3D Vibration mode and immersive touch. Dipped in Dark blue, white and gold, a 3150mAh battery completes the package.
Last month, Gionee announced its first ‘Made in India’ smartphone in Vizag – the F series, F10. The smartphone was launched as the first Gionee device assembled by Foxconn in SriCity. At the event, Gionee’s India chief Arvind Vohra said that the entire portfolio will be made in India by March 2016.
Gionee also claims to have sold 4 million devices in India and will look to double the sales in the current year 2015-2016, backed by support provided through its India manufacturing.
