Setting a target of achieving a double digit growth, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu the AP stood second in the country with regard to ease of doing business. “But, we should not be contended with it. Our target should be stand among top five in the world, he said.
Inaugurating a two-day district Collectors conference here on Friday, Mr. Naidu perception and Reality would be looked at differently. Ease of doing business is a perception. Reality would be measured in terms of industrial growth, he said.
The officials should not wait for somebody to invest and set up industries here. The Collectors have to create necessary facilities for industrial growth. Employment generation was possible through it, he said.
Asking the officials to examine China, Singapore and Dubai growth models, Mr. Naidu said those countries were fall below four decades. But, they progressed amazingly. Primarily it was due to effective utilization of available resources and proper planning. Consensus, convergence of resources and funds at disposal was need of the hour. “It was not a Herculean Task to achieve double digit growth if you think out of the box,” he said.
Mere achieving double digit growth would not suffice. There was a lot of gap between districts as far as per capita income was concerned. Officials need to exercise to bring down that gap. So, inclusive growth was necessary to show case the AP as best performing State, he said adding, apart from it, fast growth was also equally important.
Coordination and efficiency were required. There was no room for inefficiency. The government gives priority to Welfare, development and capacity building. “Be a right man at right place,” he said.
