Ranji: Mumbai look to dominate Railways

MUMBAI: Mumbai meet Railways in their sixth round fixture of the Ranj Trophy starting at the Wankhede Stadium, and the contrast in the progress of the two outfits this season could not have been more stark. While the hosts top Group B with 20 point – three points clear of Madhya Pradesh and Punjab Railways are placed firmly at the bottom with only six points to their credit from six games. And given the form of the 40-time champions, there could be no end to the visitors’ discomfiture over the coming four days.

Mumbai are riding high on the back of some consistent batting performances from the likes of Shreyas Iyer (633 runs), Siddhesh Lad (382 runs) and Suryakumar Yadav (372 runs), and commendable bowling displays by spinner Vishal Dabholkar (19 wickets), Shardul Thakur (14 wkts) and Balwinder Singh Sandhu (Jr) (13 wkts).
