Samsung launches rugged smartphone Galaxy Active Neo


Samsung has launched a new ruggedised smartphone, Galaxy Active Neo in the budget segment. The phone has been launched in Japan via NTT Docomo at 20,000 yen (Rs 10,900 approximately) but is also expected to soon make its global debut.

Samsung Galaxy Active Neo is IP68 certified which makes it dust and water resistant up to 1.5 meter and 30 minutes. It also boasts MIL-STD-810G certification for salt and sea water, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistance. The phone can tollerate 2 tons of load and survive drops on concrete from a height of 1.5 meters.

 Galaxy Active Neo sports a 4.5-inch WVGA (800x480p) display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
The phone sports an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera and comes with 16GB storage expandable via microSD cards. It has a 2200mAh battery and supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC connectivity options.
