Stripe, a payment processor, has integrated Bitcoin into its payments platform, allowing its clients to accept Bitcoin.
The company has been working on integrating Bitcoin for a long time, conducting its first test payments with Bitcoin in March of 2014. Almost a year later, Stripe has successfully added Bitcoin to its processing options. Stripe clients will be able to accept Bitcoin either through the company’s API or through the platform’s “Checkout” feature.
Currently, only Stripe clients with US dollar accounts will be able to accept Bitcoin through the Stripe platform. Businesses that do accept Bitcoin through Stripe will pay a 0.5% fee on each transaction.
