State Farm invites people from the Unites States and Canada to submit a cause, an idea that would make your community a better place to live in. The cause submissions are accepted from March 3 to March 23, 2014. Up to 4000 cause submissions will be accepted.
Once the submission period is over, the State Farm Youth Advisory Board will do its best to choose 200 causes based on a scoring rubric by April 28th when they will be announced. Those 200 causes will then be put to an online vote through the free Facebook app where anyone can vote up to 10 times a day until the end of the voting period on May 16. Forty top causes will all be receiving a State Farm Neighborhood Assist grant of $25 000 to help address the cause.
Causes can be submitted through the Facebook app that you can get for free at www.statefarm.com/neighborhoodassist..
Last year more than 3.4 million votes were given to the causes and the winning grants ended up in 27 different US states or Canadian provinces.
“I’m so thankful for how special it made our kids feel,” said Mike Smith, founder of 2013’s top vote receiving The Bay, a Lincoln, NE nonprofit that is committed to helping kids reach their goals, and dreams.
