NEW DELHI: WhatsApp is said to be working on adding Facebook integration to the app, along with making chats more secure with end-to-end encryption.
Android developer Javier Santos posted screenshots of the upcoming feature on his Google+ page; the post says the software build for WhatsApp (owned by Facebook) for this update is 2.12.413, while the app’s current build available from Google Play is 2.12.367.
As the screenshots above show, the WhatsApp integration with Facebook will “improve” the user’s social media experience. It also seems that if the user chooses once to not share their WhatsApp data with Facebook, the option will not be provided to them again.
Coming to end-to-end encryption, WhatsApp calls and messages will become more secure and put the app on par with Telegram in terms of security. Even WhatsApp servers will not be able to read these encrypted messages in private chat mode.
