Xiaomi teases MiPad 2 tablet’s slim design, metal body

We are just a few days away from Xiaomi’s big launch event, which is scheduled for November 24. Xiaomi president Lin Bin has followed up yesterday’s teaser of the Redmi Note 2 Pro with another teaser image, this time of the long-rumoured MiPad 2.

The image, posted by Bin on Chinese social networking website Weibo, shows just one corner of the upcoming Xiaomi MiPad 2 tablet.

Though the image does not show the tablet in full, there is still a lot to notice. Firstly, it seems Xiaomi is dumping the glossy plastic shell for a much more premium metallic body. The tablet appears to be quite slim too, though we will have to wait to find out if it matches the iPad Air 2 in terms of slimness.

Camera of Xiaomi MiPad sits on the corner, but is missing the LED flash (like the original model). The volume rocker and Power button also sport metallic finish and are curved in design.
Going by previous leaks, Xiaomi MiPad 2 will have an Intel chipset under the hood, backed by 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM. The Chinese may retain the screen size and resolution from the original model: 7.9-inch display with 2048×1536 pixels.
